An inspiring story about coming to terms with an ostomy

Read stories from three people with stomas as reported by the BBC this week.  The news story tells how Jackie 52 from Berkshire felt that having her ileosotomy 22 years ago changed her life for the better.  According to the BBC article Jackie ‘doesn't feel that having a stoma is a disability’. Instead it has become part of her daily routine and has helped her live her life to the full.

Michelle Willcocks, 31 agrees with Jackie and believes having a stoma fitted in 2011 was well worth it and is now a world triathlon champion. The final story featured in the BBC article is from Iain Morrison,25 who like Jackie and Michelle, feels that the key is ‘a positive attitude and the ability to adapt’.
